The 1st IEEE Iberian Student Branch Congress(http://www.ieee-isbc.org/2009/) was born from an initiative between the Instituto Superior Técnico and the Instituto Politécnico de Castelo Branco’s Student Branches, with the aim of having together, for the first time in IEEE history, all of the IEEE student members from Portugal and Spain, as well as other students and guests from other IEEE Region 8 countries (Europe, Africa, Middle East and Russia). The 1st edition of this congress was held in 2010 in Lisbon (Portugal)
The 2nd IEEE Iberian Student Branch Congress(http://rgnu.ieeesb.etsit.upm.es/isbc/) was already held in Madrid (Spain) in 2011, from March 11th to 13th. There was at the Congress at least 35 Student Branches which belong to the Iberian Peninsula. These branches were represented by more than 70 Delegates that got together to share experiences, developed new skills, socialized, interacted with the industry and discussed prominent issues of the various areas of engineering and management.
